About Me
I am currently a mechanical engineer working at NexTek, LLC., designing new products as well as maintaining and leading continuous improvement efforts for analog RF surge protection devices. My passion for design and learning new things is what drew me to working on an intimate team of four engineers, including myself.
Working on such a small team, I have been exposed to every aspect of the design and manufacturing process, sometimes in order. One of the main reasons why I enjoy working on small, dynamic teams is that I can be involved in end-to-end product design, beginning with some basic requirements and a notebook sketch, and ending with improving design, processes, and tooling to scale up and improve production (although it never really does end). One of my main philosophies when it comes to my work is that I would rather be stressed than bored.
I have enjoyed design and engineering for as long as I could remember, and that love for my work is what drives my ambition in the field. When I was younger, I had many mentors tell me that they "still don't know what they want to do when [they] grow up," and as I progress in my career, I am beginning to understand what that means.
